Here’s how to claim your ENS airdrop and delegate your tokens
--
The Ethereum Name Service or ENS is launching a DAO, represented in the real world by a Cayman Islands Foundation.
If you’ve ever owned an ENS name, you’re eligible to receive $ENS governance tokens. Claims will open on November 8 2021 and last until May 4 2022, after which any remaining tokens will be sent to the DAO treasury.
The ENS token contract is 0xC18360217D8F7Ab5e7c516566761Ea12Ce7F9D72
There will be 100m $ENS tokens in total, and the distribution is as follows:
- 25% airdrop to .ETH holders
- 25% to ENS contributors
- 50% to the DAO community treasury
The airdrop is distributed to all addresses on an account level that are or have been the registrant of a .ETH second-level domain based on the total time of an address’s past registration and future registration as of October 31st 2021.
The token distribution formula takes the following into account:
- How old an .ETH address is
- Current expiry dates
- Users who have set their Primary ENS, previously called the Reverse Record, get a 2x multiplier.
Before going through the process, it’s advisable to quickly check if you qualify for a claim using this community made tool.
Simply paste your address in the search bar and it will showcase your potential claim.
